BUT OWEN HAD A FRIEND OVER AND I DIDN'T WANT TO BE UNSOCIABLE.
So. I don't have a camera, so no photoblog. But, I do have semi-exciting stories to share?
Em. I finished my essay. Got that shit handed in.
Friday was Gavin's birthday and Gavin's super awesome party.
He made fruit loaves, I made a key lime pie and a ton of meringues, Emma bought a chocolate cake.
I drank too much gin and had to be taken home. Gavin vomited in the garden, the stairwell and his bed - as only befits a true birthday boy. A very bad man (Mawdsley) pissed up the wall and on himself.
Vulgarities aside it was fantastic. Nice to see lots of nice people.
Saturday was a day of recovery and board games.
Wizard, Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble. Nice.
Sunday me, Richard, Owen, Pete, Craig and Fraser went to the rugby.
Really fantastic game, despite the Scotland loss it was a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Good sport and a streaker.
Afterwards went to FilmSoc to see Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, followed by a really tense game of Wizard (which I absolutely blitzed).
Monday I made another pie - recipe of my creation.
Mushroom and potato with caramelised onions, sundried tomatoes and a creamy garlic sauce.
Brogan, Amanda and Sarah N came over to deliver birthday cheesecake for Gav.
Had one of the funniest nights of my life, Brogan ended up reading aloud from this bizarre sci-fi novel Gav had picked up to use in one of his art projects. So funny. We had Amanda, Gav and Pete contributing some of the voices.
Laughing became painful. I heartily recommend you read it.
Partially due to the rendition, partially because we came in half way through and didn't have a clue what was happening, and a large amount because it was a fucked up story, it was hilarious.
Tuesday I stayed in bed for lectures, went to my practical in which we exposed a guinea pig ileum to different combinations of neurotransmitters and antagonists and measured degrees of tension to study their effect. Went to see We Need To Talk About Kevin with Georgie, Gavin and Charlotte - awesome and hella creepy.
Went to Drouthy Neebor's for a few drink with Edinburgh Chorus + Richard, Gavin and Harry.
Hive afterwards with Richard, Georgie and Sarah C.
Probably owe Georgie a drink, as when drinks are a pound, and she gave me £10 to buy her a whisky coke, I assume she was probably expecting change.
Wednesday was my free day. Went to the theatre with Charlotte to see Of Mice and Men, very very good, and sad. Nearly cried several times.
Later on Owen's friend arrived from Belfast. Fun fact: He lived in the flat below Oonagh in first year, and Oonagh's flat stole his flat's sofa.
Then Owen's hockey team arrived dressed as Simpson's characters to pre-drink for a hockey social. Good craic.
Today I went to a couple of lectures.
My genetics teacher mocked her husband for being colour blind, explaining how she likes to think of him as a mutant.
She also included pictures of her children playing Twister adding "because they can"
Later I think I'm going to the third year art show at ECA, Gavin and Mark are taking part in an installation. Afterwards Martha's birthday drinks and Temple.
Hm. These days I really am just writing a diary. I'd like to talk about interesting things, but I usually end up blogging when I come in from lectures, and usually when I'm feeling tired and uninteresting.
I think we need a challenge.
Because I like photos, everyone post a significant photo of them and each member of this blog.
Significant can mean, first time you met, last time you saw them, some sort of important day or event, y'know.
I want photos and explanations.
