Hey, Tom blogged and no one else did. What’s going on guys?
This is just another good argument for a combined blog, at least then there
would be stuff posted every day…
This week I had exams on Thursday and Friday. Thursday’s was
ok I think, but still plenty hard. Friday’s was, after my A2 physics exam on
which I gave up doing any of the work halfway through the year and got an E
in, the worst exam I have ever done. I wasn’t the only one to think this though;
everyone seemed equally depressed afterwards. I am almost definitely resitting
it in the summer. Boo.
Is it too late to have New Year’s resolutions? At the start
of the year I thought they were stupid and I didn’t need no date to tell me to
do things. Over the last few days however I have started to change my mind a
bit, why not use the start of the year to do some better things. So with this
in mind I have decided that in 2012 I am going to:
- Get fitter – I was talking to Tom about this and we have both decided we will go running and stuff in order to be ripped for next New Year so we can just rock up naked.
- Read more books - I keep buying books which look good and then never reading them so yeah, I want to get through some of them. I am going to start with If On A Winter’s Night A Traveller which Kate recommended to me years ago and I got given for Christmas.
- Do more uni work – If my exams of the last few days have taught me anything it is that I am a bad student. I work far too little and then exams are terrible, this needs to change and this term I am determined to write up lectures more and make sure I actually understand stuff.
That’s probably it to be honest and the reason I am writing
them here is so that now I have told people I will feel obliged to actually do
follow through with them. So, even though it is pretty boring, I will update
you on them over the year.
I started playing Skyrim yesterday. I got it for Christmas
but my telly was down here at uni so I couldn’t play it until now. I am
enjoying it quite a lot so far, I have chosen one of the races that are good at
magic and I can just set stuff on fire with my fists now. I fear it’s going to
consume rather a lot of my life; I’ve racked up about 12 hours gameplay over
the last two days and now my eyes hurt.
I’m excited for Sherlock tonight. It’s like a whole film
length every week and it is just so clever and awesome. Benedict Cumberbatch is an
excellent actor in my opinion. I would thoroughly recommend watching it if you
haven’t already.
My lectures start again this week and we are doing the renal
system. I can’t say this is something that excites me.
Here is your new doctor comic, it seems particularly relevant
as I am learning how to do gastrointestinal examinations in a couple of weeks…
LOVE YOU
