House woes and kidneys.

Time for a blog I guess.

This week has been mostly an uneventful one. Going back to lectures after a month or so off was a bit of a struggle and by Friday morning all the 9 o’clock starts had taken their toll and I was super tired. I did manage to make it to all my lectures though so good news there. I like learning about kidneys a lot, they’re totally cool organs, I would be friends with them.

Yesterday I spent all day on the sofa feeling terribly hungover, I managed to get some serious skyrim done though, I think that game might kill me.

This week I think I have looked around 10 houses. You would think this would be an ample number to see in order to find one that is liked by all my housemates, but apparently it isn't. We saw an absolutely incredible house on Thursday, it was laid out over 4 floors and had a conservatory and 2 kitchens and about a million showers and it wasn’t even very expensive, the only downside was it was in the Stokes Croft/St Paul’s area of Bristol. It was 1 minute away from the Tesco where there were loads of riots and about 5 minutes away from the nightclub where like 3 people got stabbed last year, it was a little bit scary. So anyway, the house search will continue this week.

On Tuesday evening I was the keenest bean and went to an extra lecture by Dr Keir Shiels who was on that junior doctors TV program. He talked about paediatric emergencies and mentioned lots of doctory things, all of which I understood and it was actually very interesting.

Ok this week I had a revelation. You know those pens which have like 4 different colours in them? Well, I always saw them as a shit idea and secretly judged anyone who used them. Anyway, I found one in a lecture theatre the other day and gave it a go. My god, they are the most useful things I have ever used, EVER. My notes are now a riot of colour.

Sometimes I get a really strong urge to wash my hands. Like I can just be sitting in my room or whatever and suddenly feel that my hands are dirty and I really need to wash them. That’s normal right? RIGHT?

I saw this on reddit the other day and it made so mad and sad and at the end happy. It is worth a watch:

This isn’t a medical comic at all but it made me laugh and I don’t really know why.
