This is going to be super short for now because I don't have my laptop and I can't be assed to type loads on my phone. I might make this better tomorrow.
My week has been lovely. I learnt sign language, spoke to Jim Lockey and came home amongst other things.
Anyway, tomorrow this will be greatly improved, but for now I bid you good night.
EDIT
I lied, it won't be greatly imporved and it won't be done on Monday. OH WELL.
David, why didn't you blog, I hear you have absolutely no medical problems or anything which would be a valid reason not to contribute...
I found this cool little webcomic the other day called Three Word Phrase. Here is an example of their wonderful work:
Get well soon David.

Josh, you bitch.
I was gonna try and subtly slip this late one in. But then you had to go and post, and we all had to get shunted out of order.
Bad Josh.
Bad Josh.
Last night I saw Cat Empire. SO GOOD.
But I didn't write any of my essay.
Currently enforcing a no-lecture policy until my essay's finished. Not working, yesterday I did three sudokus, two maths-challenge-puzzles and completed the trial version of Plants vs Zombies.
That's about it.
I realise now we forgot to discuss punishments for David. I want to see that picture of baby-David he teased us with.
In solidarity I might post the one of me in the cycling shorts and the dog t-shirt at Avebury. A classic, really.

My battery's low.
Hi everybody!
Fuck Thursday,
It's still Wednesday in many ways.
I was going to plan this one but I decided to just rant about my week to you instead.
This week went well I think. Friday night I went to the Falmouth beer festival, which was basically a charity run boozy airport. I had some wierd ale called Scilly Stout that tasted like chocolate, which was king of disgusting but nice. Then on Saturday our house had a barbeque and that was a massive success. Sunday I kind of nursed my hangovers by reading Alan Partridge's autobiography, which you should totally read Tom. Then Monday my sister got here and we partied hard on white russians. We went to Lizard point on Tuesday; 'The southern'st Britan' was really cool and I took an awesome photo of it just for the blog but seem to have left my phone cable in Swindon. Trust me it was awesome. Wednesday was yesterday (today, whatever) and that was the night I went to the pub.
My tutor hates me and after reading that overview of my week I can kind of see why.
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be Dick Dastardly, he's always putting so much effort in and never winning the race and that dog just laughs at him all the time.
I've been thinking a lot this week about pasties, but that's a story for another blog.
I don't know what else to say.
Except this...

Insert funny title here
I have had a most pleasant week. I hope yours have
been good too.
As I mentioned in my last blog I had 9 days off in a
row, today is the 9th day and I have lectures again tomorrow which
is a bit sad. I think I have spent my days of freedom well though.
On Wednesday I went to that London to see David. His
house is really nice by the way. In the evening we went to Xtra Mile’s “Fuck
the Fire” gig. Beans on Toast, Chris T-T and Jim Lockey all played along with
some other people that we didn’t know so well. It was a fun night and we got to
talk to Jim and Beans. Also Chris T-T made some very good points about politics
and that.
On Friday Tom, Emma, Kerry and Matt all came and
visited Bristol. We made fajitas for tea and then got drunk and went to Bunker.
Turns out a famous dubstep DJ was playing, I forget his name though, he was
good though and there was a proper gig atmosphere there and everyone was all
pushy and sweaty. I quite enjoyed myself. Tom on the other hand did not enjoy
himself and got all lost and then got all mad at us.
In a minute I am going on the medic fresher’s bar
crawl. Why on a Sunday you may ask and in all honesty I don’t know. The second
year fancy dress theme is ‘think pink’ so I have got a lovely outfit consisting
of bright pink Primark leggings and a t-shirt, not going to lie, I look hot. I
also have some pink hair spray but it says it might now wash out of pink hair
so I am slightly worried about using it.
I started and have almost finished reading
Slaughterhouse 5. It is a strange book but so incredibly well written that it
is really good.
Finally, this is the reason I don’t like bananas.
Seriously, fuck them.

It's cold in Scotland.
On Monday Harry came to my flat to play guess what I'm wearing.
Turns out the answer was two jumpers, a shirt, a long sleeved thermal t-shirt, a vest, one pair of trousers and some long-johns.
Though this was just a dry run, to see how many clothes he could actually fit on, should the temperature warrant it.

Yesterday I got some new shoes, which is useful as my only remaining pair had come so apart from the sole that I was scooping up puddles and spraying them in front of me as I walked.
My socks were understandably very wet.
My socks were understandably very wet.
Weekend was lovely.
On Friday we went to Teviot, and then to Faye's flat where we did colouring in and Liz snapped the handle off a mug because it was looking at her funny.
Saturday went to the Farmers Market where Pete bought some jam only to throw it on the ground. (He was swinging the bag around, bag snapped - jam everywhere. I laughed.)
Afterwards went to Brass Monkey which is a gorgeous pub that plays films for free everyday in the back room. It's full of these huge sofa / mattresses and all snuggly and lovely. We saw Footloose and it was GLORIOUS. THEY PLAY CHICKEN WITH TRACTORS. Some guys weren't impressed as they'd come expecting to see Total Recall. We on the other hand came expecting nothing, and in return got everything.
Had a pub golf pub crawl with the Art College lot on Grassmarket.
Lost most of my pint in the Black Bull whilst dancing quite spectacularly to the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. I'd say equal parts on me, the floor, my dance partner, our spectators etc...
Got asked by security to get off the table in Biddy Mulligans. But, in my defence they were playing The Contours, and me and Emma were only dancing. Plus they are ridiculously overpriced.
Sunday evening we watched Source Code at FilmSoc then slipped into the Drouthy Neebors pub quiz just in time to nab some complementary buffet.
Yesterday I baked Georgie a cake because she's got chicken pox and has been quarantined in her flat for the last week. We were supposed to be going to Rocky Horror night at the Hive. Instead we ate cake and drank Baileys.

¡Viva la RevoluciĆ³n!
Guys, I’m basically a doctor.
Ok maybe a bit of an exaggeration but I have actually seen
real patients and totally been able to take their history and examine them and
work out what is wrong with them. So yeah, this week has been pretty exciting.
I spent all of it in hospital and learnt how to take a history and do a cardiovascular
examination. On Monday they got actors in and we got to practice on them. The
next day we were taken onto wards where there were real ill people and got to
talk to and examine them in groups with doctors there to help if we did it
wrong. Then on Thursday they were split us into pairs and were just like “right,
off you go into the hospital and find yourself a patient with a cardiovascular problem
and examine and take their history and then present it to us tomorrow.” They
didn’t give us any guidance where to go or anything so we just had to wander
around the wards and try and find someone all on our own and it was really
scary but at the same time cool because it felt like being a real life doctor.
I also got to walk around a lot with my stethoscope around my neck and feel
cool.
I am now into the second day of my nine day weekend. That’s
right, I have 9 days off in a row, what of it? We had to be split into two
groups to do our clinical placements and I was the first group and all this
week the second group are doing it so I get to do nothing. I really need a
project to or something to do for this week, maybe I’ll write a story or
something. I might hit the charity shops and find a good book, I think I would
like to read Catch 22 or A Brave New World but anything will do really.
On Saturday I went to Occupy Bristol. It was really cool
even though only around 150 were there. I had a chat to lots of people and they
were all nice, I also got given about a million papers by the Socialist Worker’s
Party. I went back again this afternoon and there were still about 26 tents
there from people who camped last night and were planning on camping again
tomorrow. This whole occupy movement that is going on at the moment is quite
exciting. I don’t know if it will lead anywhere but I really hope it does. I
will try and get involved as much as I can and I hope you do too.

Gotta love Thursdays' four hour breaks
So I'm writing to you from the cosy familiar Humanities Suite at Uni. All the lecturers in their office can see I'm using the computers to blog but I just don't care.
Actually, I lie, I do care, I keep opening an article every time anybody comes up behind me.
I'm ashamed.
Anyway, it's been a while since I did this and you have Juliet to thank for today's post as I just got a text from her reminding me. Sorry I've been so absent from your Thursday routines but I've only just managed to achieve internet access at home and I always seem to forget when I'm in uni cause EVERYONE WANTS A PIECE OF ME.
Anyway, this was me this morning on the way to Uni:
http://buttercupfestival.com/2-4.htm
Yep, massively hungover, shortcutting through the woods.
My house is pretty small for 6 people but it's surprisingly quiet. Cause I have the box room I spend most my time working in the living room and people come and go quite a bit which is nice. I love living in the town centre, everything is just a skip away (apart from actual uni). YOU GUYS: I FEEL LIKE A GROWN UP!
I have missed this blogging lark. I think I can make a regular spot for this as I have a stupid four hour gap between lectures with nothing else to do but read. And I miss you guys too, it feels like so long since I've seen Swindon already and it's only been two weeks.
Still, I'll definately be coming back for Ben Marwood in November so you all best be there too.
Juliet and Will, you guys keep on rocking, if three out of five of us can manage this then we'll be the cool kids.
I have to go visit my tutor now.
Love to your mothers.

Yeaaaaaah
I nearly forgot, but look at me - little trooper.
So. I didn't go to Itchy Feet and neither did I go to Glasgow.
But my little toenail is about to fall off. I also have quite a severe limp, a blister on the underside of my foot and various other maladies.
But Cath came up last weekend so now pain has no meaning.
It was good.

I have to wait until my washing's done until I can sleep. I am feeling like death.
Although, to be honest I'll probably just sleep on the sofa. I had to stick my bedding in. But I'm scared because last time I looked it was MEGA foamy because I put double the tablets in on account of the blood.
We bought Left for Dead 2 from Cex.

We also bought Neverending Story, we tried watching it during pre-drinking but then the horse died of sadness and I think everyone's heart broke a little.
The boys did fajitas tonight, which was lovely as I limped home from a lab at about 5 after having eaten nothing all day but some bread I found to find them already cooking. I missed my morning lab and had to sneak into another sesh. I only ate one of mine, I think I might be hungry but worry that it actually might be a desire to vomit that I'm sensing, and I don't want to risk vomiting such a lovely fajita.
I also broke my key last night.
I'm enjoying the run-on-sentences and incoherent structure tonight.

Down it fresher.
Phew, what a week I have had.
I think this last week has been one of the longest but
probably the most enjoyable of doing medicine so far. It was fresher’s week so
I went out and stuff but I had 9 – 5 lectures on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
and then on Thursday and Friday I started my first placement in a REAL LIFE
HOSPITAL. The downside of this was that I had to be there for 8 each day and it
is a half an hour bus journey away and I had to get up stupidly early, after
going out the night before it was pretty horrible, did you know it’s still
pretty much pitch black outside at 7:15? It’s weird. But yeah, my placement was
amazing. I shadowed a nurse on Thursday and just saw what they do really, I was
on a surgery ward and got to do an ultrasound of a guy’s bladder and stuff, it
was cool. On Friday I was in the plaster room and got to see them do casts and
stuff and got to help put a cast on someone’s broken leg, again it was super
cool.
On Friday I met Joanne and we went to see Ben Marwood. I just about managed to put up with Jo, even though she is a dirty fresher. Mr Marwood
was just standing in the crowd for all the support acts and we had a proper
chat and we shook hands and he was like “hi, I’m Ben, what’s your name?” It was
awesome. Oxygen Thief was one of the other people playing and I’d never really
watched a proper set by him but he was really quite excellent. Ben was of
course amazing; I stood at the front next to this man who had an arm literally
covered in festival wristbands. I sang all the words to all the songs and when Ben
sang Question Marks he looked over at me and gave me a little smile and it was
amazing. At the end of his set Jo and I gave him a hug and he asked if we were
staying for a drink, we didn’t because we thought maybe he was just being
polite and decided we would wait until he was in Swindon instead so we didn’t
seem overly keen. You best all come to Swindon too!
My forthcoming week is exciting. Tomorrow I don’t start
until 10 and I finish at 1 which is pretty amazing. Then for the rest of the
week I am actually learning real life doctor stuff, again in a real life hospital.
The downside of this is it will be pretty much 9 – 5 and I’m not sure I’m ready
for that, we shall see. I will let you know all the new and exciting exams I
can do on you next week.
Me and the house are going to attempt to cook a Sunday roast
in a minute so that will be exciting. I will update you all later on how it has
gone…
So the roast went brilliantly, no thanks to me I might add.
I peeled some vegetables and then cut my finger and so I had to stop so I didn’t
bleed all over the potatoes. But yeah, it was lovely. In the future can we get
a house and cook together? I think it would be swell.
Guys, I haven’t seen you for almost 2 weeks or longer now so
it would be awesome if you wrote blogs so we could keep in touch and stuff, I
miss you.

God damn.
I'm gonna start sending out brutal texts on everyone's blog days.
I'm just ashamed.
Got internet in my flat yesterday - yayyy.
Had a test this morning which went ok - wooo.
Going to Itchy Feet tonight - eeee.
Running out of exclamatory noises.
Going to Glasgow to get my passport done EXPRESS STYLE so I can visit the sister in Switzerland. Ima excited.

Well. I don't think I'm going to say much more.

You post a title.
It’s only Sunday already. What is that all about.
There are young people outside making far too much noise, what is wrong with the youth today?
So I’m back at uni now and start lectures at 9am sharp
tomorrow. It’s pretty annoying because I am the only one out of the eight in my
house who has any lectures this week. I have 7 and a half hours tomorrow, what
is that all about?
I’m all moved into my new house now which is cool. It was
one of my housemates birthday yesterday so we had a house party which was
awesome. It was nice to catch up with uni people and that although if anyone
else asks me how my summer was I might fight them.
Sorry this is just a short blog this week but it’s getting
late and I have to be up early tomorrow. Also I have nothing at all interesting
to share with you all.
You’re all very welcome to come stay whenever you like so
yeah, bear that in mind.
