A la bibliothèque.

Still no internet in the flat, so in the library is fine.
Though I'm in Darwin Library which is lovely, although they've moved a ton of the bookshelves which is sad because now people can see that I'm sitting on Facebook and stealthing my lunch, and not actually revolutionising the biological world.

I think David and Tom are bad people. Cath has an excuse and needs to be readded to the blog as she cannae log into her old account.
But Tom and David... sigh.

Edinburgh is still lovely, I get so many moments of just looking at it and smiling and going 'N'aw. Isn't that pretty.'

I could describe my week, but I doubt it was interesting.
My friends went to Tesco on a bev-run and when asked for cider came back with Frosty Jacks, which is just an insult.
I don't remember how it tasted as I'd already had a bottle of wine and after the Jacks moved on to triple vodkas and Jagerbombs. But I did have to put my shoes in the wash, whether this is related I cannot say.

My friends' flat has newspaper letter fridge magnets, and I spent several well spent hours rearranging them in magical combinations.
"Hot Black Muff Club. *** The Sun." Was a favourite.
And "Loose buttery nipples, 500g" Also a winner.

I don't have another lecture till one, but my flat is a half an hour walk from here, so I'm probably just gonna fuck around for the next hour or so.
I have my first test / exam in a weeks time and it looks God awful. But it's only worth 10% and I get a second attempt in a month or so.

My jellyfish costume was awesome. People genuinely applauded as I entered the room.
I owe full credit to Miranda.

We have Beerientering with BioSoc on Thursday. We have to go in teams of 4 with a 'P' theme. I want to go as Peas in a Pod. I think if we all just wear green then wrap ourselves in my big green blanket. Should be fun, I didn't bother with BioSoc last year other than arriving briefly to thieve Jagerbombs and then swiftly departing to more fun events.

This is only so long as I'm bored.
I think I'm going to work now. Ew.

Once I have internet I swear I'll keep better touch with you all. :D

The title is the hardest part about blogging

Good evening comrades.

Fuck, I so nearly forgot to post. I actually wrote most of this on Saturday because, I don’t know, I was just in the mood to write stuff I guess. I then kind of ticked it off my list of things to do in my head and forgot that it actually needed posting as well. OH WELL.

So yeah, I’ve had a pretty awesome week, I hope yours has been similarly cool.

I went to Exeter for a few days with Jo and David. We visited Kerry at her new house and had a lovely time. Kerry’s was really nice until she decided to wreck it by ripping the banister of the stairs. We went to The Leaky Cauldron which was super cool. We met loads of fresher music kids there and they were less super cool… David stole a jumper and he looked dashing in it.

On Friday I went to Oxford for my sisters graduation except I didn’t actually have a ticket for the graduation part so I had to wait around outside for bloody ages. Afterwards there was a garden party with free food and drink and stuff so that made up for it. We also went for cocktails and then a meal. I think mojitos are my new favourite cocktail, just so you know. When I was there I met one of the guys from this group, it turns out David and Tom have met him too because he lived with my sister when we went to stay way back. Anyway, I had no idea about these guys but yeah, they’re pretty awesome (they were on Britain's Got Talent but the link to that wouldn't work):

This week I got a BADASS NEW CAMERA. It is all big and proper and a little bit scary but I took some nice pictures in Oxford so I reckon I will be able to learn to do proper photographs if I practise a lot.

In other news the new series of How I Met Your Mother AND Community started this week. The new HIMYM was good, I liked it a lot, although I did think we were getting closer to finally meeting the mother but it seems like we’re probably not. New Community was slightly disappointing, it didn’t have any great moments, however I think they were just setting up the new story lines and linking it in with last series so I’m sure the rest of it will be awesome.

Cath! You’ve left! I’m sorry I didn’t come say bye to you on Friday night but as I already mentioned I was in Oxford and didn’t get back until late. I hope you had a nice last night and you’re looking forward to freshers and all the crazy times you will have in Newcastle. I’m sure it will be ace!

See the rest of you this week some time?

P.S. Juliet, fuck Scotland.

I know what you're thinking...

It's friday, right?

Wrong.

This morning (Thursday morning that is, cause it's still Thursday) I woke up and went to work then got home and fell asleep then cooked some mackrel then went to work again then went home (with a brief half an hour visit to the vic).

That is just how interesting my day has been. In fact, that's just how interesting my week has been.

Actually, I did see you David outside the vic which was nice - if not brief -and it made me realise once more how little I've seen of you this week which is annoying. I'm sorry you guys.

But apparently we're going to Cath's for a sit down with some films tomorrow right? That sounds so perfect I cannot even tell you.

Next week I will have lots more interesting things to tell you like for instance whether or not I passed my MOTHER FUCKING DRIVING TEST. If I do by the way, you're all welcome for a day of driving around the countryside with me next Friday, it will be rad and awesomely lovely (weather permitting) so I expect happiness.

Will, I couldn't agree more, this summer has gone far too quickly and I'm really sad that everybody's going to uni too, especially me because I'm Swindon's biggest loss since the front garden.

I'm so tired I can't see straight so it's going have to be goodnight from me, I'll see y'all tomorrow so we can catch up IRL.

Love to your mothers.

Gotta get down on Wednesday?

Another quickun because I have limited battery life and much to be done.
But at least I'm blogging, AMIRIGHT? David, Tom and Cath. You disappoint me.

In the library at the moment, for some rapid CV pimping and printing.
Did a lap of all the local pubs and now need to prove how awesome I am.

Did Freshers week, was very lovely and drunken. Now doing first week, still lovely and drunken but with added learning.
Actually enjoying the lectures at the moment, but when the course organiser himself mentions the name by which his module his fondly referred to (The Dynamic Hell) I think perhaps it's unlikely to last.

Went to a biblical themed birthday party as the David to my friend Gavin's Goliath.
Was awesome, but I drank two bottles of wine, walked home barefoot on my own, befriending a man on the way who shared his chips with me. Got to my flat only to realise I'd left my keys and mobile at the others', and of course none of them were in.
Crashed a flat party on my road where I knew no one and stole lots of vodka.
Got home in the end.

Currently assembling a jellyfish costume for a alphabet themed flat warming.

I like my flat. Juan gave us his TV on loan and it's HUGE. We also have my PS2 and an xbox 360. We play much GTA4.

Sorry I have nothing exciting for you.
Oh, and DAVID. REMEMBER THAT TIME YOU SAID YOU'RE VISIT ME IN EDINBURGH?
You're still welcome.

What time is it? Blog o’clock, that’s what.

So the summer really is drawing to an end. As I write this I am really cold and it is pouring with rain outside. The cold part might just be because I’m a bit ill and for this I blame Kerry. Still, it is quite sad that people are already heading back to uni, the summer seems to have passed much too quickly. With this in mind I propose we all go on holiday somewhere next year. It doesn’t have to be anywhere fancy or expensive, maybe just to Cornwall or the Lake District or something but I think it would be really lovely.

Today I have been sorting out bills and things with my housemates for the coming year. The most exciting part of this is that we are getting 30mb/s broadband and after having to use my home internet for the past 2 months I can’t wait to be able to use something that will actually let you watch YouTube in higher quality than 360p. The second most exciting thing is the fact that we have unmetered water, why I find this exciting is explained quite adeptly in this comic:

The other day I learnt that next year my cricket team will be playing in the fourth best level of cricket you can play without being professional, so yeah, that’s pretty rad.

By now Kate, Jonny and Matt will have all made their exciting first forays into university life, I hope they are all having wonderful freshers weeks so far and making lots of nice new friends. Only ‘nice’ friends though, no more than that, I don’t want them to replace us!

David, I’m still waiting for that picture you promised to upload.
Tom, why so juice.
Cath, I miss your writing.
Josh, keep on rocking.
Juliet, fuck Scotland.

P.S. Fuck this guy.

Like those before me I will come and go, and it will have to be quick cause I've got work

Today I ate a whole baguette!!! Then some Ice Cream. Right now there's a bowl of rice in front of me.
But the fun doesn't stop there. Oh no. Today (for those of you that were'nt there - Cath & Juliet) we saw a drugs bust. Well the aftermath anyway, David saw it happen. Then on the walk home I saw another in Queens. What a busy day it's been for Wiltshire! Heavens above!

Seriously though, do you know what's worse than turning up to work and realising you don't have work?

Turning up for work only to have someone tell you that you have work in two hours so you should go home, do nothing then come back.

That's what's worse.

I've just realised I type/talk very different when I'm in a hurry. Does that bother you? I hope not cause this is all you're getting.

One final thing: It was fantastic seeing you off Juliet and have a great second year, sounds like your house is fun.
To everybody else, I'll see you in the pub tonight.

Love to your mothers.

Och, aye.

My first post from the wee land of Scots.
It's gonna be a quickie as our flat doesn't have internet so I'm the other guys', and it's wrong to be antisocial.

Gavin is cooking breakfast, I think Harry is helping.
Fraser is watching the episode of Pokemon when they meet a the sick Charmander with the dickish owner who's left him on a rock to die. Sad times.
Oonagh is also sitting on the sofa, but her grasp of Pokemon is limited so I don't believe she is properly appreciating what she's seeing.

Our flat is lovely, but the other ones' is nicer. And cheaper. I'm bitter.
Georgie's flat is stunning. And she can see JK Rowling's house from her window.

We had a flat party last night for Richard's birthday and it was fantastic.

My last week in the 'Don was amazing. I like all my friends.
These first few days in the 'Burgh have been stunning. I'm tired.

Harry just delivered an egg sandwich to me.
Yay.

Bonjour

Blogger, you’re new interface is not fast, modern or any of the other adjectives you used to describe it.

Bonjour mes amis, ça va? Bon.
I have been in France for that last few days and it was pretty cool. I went with my family and we stayed in my mum’s friend’s house in Normandy. I saw so much old stuff; it was like history teachers dream holiday. I saw the Bayeux Tapestry which is really big, I was slightly disappointed embroidery on it, I know it’s like a thousand years old but still, some of their work was just shoddy. I had never realised that William the Conqueror was actually the good guy really and Harold was just a bit of a dick who stole the throne when Edward died. I also saw Mont St Michel which was really really cool, it has a big old monastery on the top and there are real nuns there and everything. Yesterday I went to Arromanches which is one of the landing beaches from D Day. The army transported a load of blocks over the channel so that we could build a port their as soon as we invaded to get supplies across because they decided that actually capturing a French port would be too hard. There are still big chunks of it left on the beach and in the see and its really interesting. Finally I went to a war cemetery, it was really sad to see so many graves and see how many young men had died. It was also nice though because there were lots of English people coming and going and at least it showed that people appreciate what was sacrificed for us. I have the greatest respect for everyone who died to defend our freedom and stand up against the terrible things the Nazis were doing.

I just acquired The Mountain Goats album Tallahassee because I have had No Children stuck in my head all week and haven’t had it on my phone to listen too.

I saw this gif a while ago I think now is the perfect opportunity to share it with you all. I don’t even know what the world record they’re trying to break is:
Fuck, if I'd known how much effort it was going to take to upload that I wouldn't have bothered.

Hmmm, eating a whole packet of Coop own brand cookies was a mistake, I wasn't even hungry.

While I was in France I read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo because I heard it was meant to be good and one some prizes and things. It really isn't very good at all. It's not very well written and nothing exciting happens for almost all of the book. I think maybe the only reason it got famous was because the author died before it was published. I would not recommend it.

Juliet, I’m sorry I wasn’t really about for your last week in Swindon. Sunday was awesome though and I think it makes up for it.
Josh, I’m glad you finally blogged again. Also hi Lilly, it was nice to see again.
David, I hope Berlin treated you well and you had fun.
Tom, I’m not sure if you were doing anything much this week but I look forward to seeing you soon.
Cath, do you even still exist.

My dad just showed me a shell collection

So I suppose I should start with an excuse for not blogging these past two weeks. Or else you'll all be mad cause that's what you to. Takers.
I got a new job at this really cool restaurant called El Toro which you should all come to and spend all your money at. And by all your money I mean all your money, cause it's so expensive.

Work is really cool actually if not a little tiring. There are lots of fun people including my boss, Ed who cut his finger nearly off and told me to put a plaster on it. But don't worry, he's fine now. Farid is hilarious, this one time I saw him beating some rump steaks with his bare fists because we'd ran out of sirloin.
Work has confirmed what I was already lead to believe at Earles, that Old Town is just full of middle class people. Most orders of the cheeseboard are followed up with 'excuse me, could you tell me where this cheese is from? And do you have any crackers'. This one guy tried to slip a £20 note in my pocket which was nice but I had to share it with everyone else cause you know, they're your colleagues and stuff.

Lily's here by the way. Say hello Lily.

Hello!!!!!!!

Well done. I took the week off work so it's been pretty eventful. Monday we were supposed to go camping but nature said no so we went to the Savoy which was nice. Tuesday we got really really wet in the rain and then watched I <3 Huckabees which was good because EVERYTHING'S CONNECTED. Wednesday we went fishing/poaching, didn't catch a thing then went to Ray's Icecream parlour then to the White Horse pub near Uffington with Anna.

And that brings us right up to date with Thursday, today we went to the Lydiard which was really quiet but Lily got to climb the tree and see all the sights which was nice.

Juliet, I'm really sad that you're leaving on Sunday cause I really haven't seen enough of you this summer but I'm coming out Saturday night (Don't tell work I'm free). Will, i really like your blogs they're a lovely pick me up on lazy Sundays. The rest of you don't deserve a mention cause you're as bad as me.

Lily, anything I've forgotten?

You all should try the lemon sorbet at Ray's, it was delissshhh.

That's about it,
Love to your mothers.

Christ.

This is getting sad.

Remember how I was the one who said, hey guys - lets wait till Uni, no one's gonna post during the summer. And you were all like no no, let's be dedicated.
Yeah - well FUCK YOU.

Anyway, I've got a bruise on my eyebrow, but my boss thinks it's a black eye.
I think it's from Sunday.
We drunk lots of wine and then lots of cocktails and then went to the Wishhounds and had a sleepy then went back to mine.

Monday was also fun. Harry vomitted a pitcher, but I wasn't there for that.
Me, Joe, Will and Tom split one and a half litres of vodka and then Tom was sick in my neighbours garden. I tried cleaning it up when I got in from work.

O HAI - good news, work still loves me.
Since getting back into Swindon on Friday I worked Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and I've got my last shift on Friday.

Anyway, this is gonna be my last post in Swindon for a while.
MOVING BACK TO EDINBURGH ON SUNDAY.
... attempting to sound less excited about that... but I really do love it there.
LOVE YOU GUYS TOO THOUGH, YEP YEP.

I dunno. Second year, ay?

Sunday, 4 September 2011

HOLY FUCK

How is it Sunday again? What even happened to this week?

I don’t care if you guys don’t post, I’m doing it anyway.

So this blog isn’t actually going to be good like I promised last week because I am tired and quite frankly can’t think of anything at all interesting to talk about.

Kate’s last night was fun but now I am tired because I had to get up super early to be back for cricket. Totally worth it though, we played a tournament and my team came second and we each got a little trophy which was nice.

I saw my Grandpa this week and he gave me some money which was lovely of him. I am considering using it to buy a proper digital SLR camera because they are fucking awesome and I want to take nice pictures of things.

I also finished LA Noire this week and the ending was sick, it was a really cool plot twist and I like that sort of thing in games.

Another thing I finished was The Great Gatsby. I have been reading it for about 3 months on and off so it's nice to finally finish. I thought it was well written but a bit too boring. I am going to read The Catcher in the Rye next and I hope it is good.

I really hope some of you blog this week although I don’t have high hopes for Tom or David.

I will leave you with this awesome comic I saw the other day. Someone needs to try this::

Well, that’s all folks.

You know how it's qednesday and I'v been at rthe Vic. an it's a wednesday. and hence a wacky wednesday. AYE.
AND YET B,LOG STIFF I DO.
(i'll make this better in the morn. but it'll till be wednesday i promise.)

SNEAKY THURSDAY EDIT
Still counts, I've decided.

So. It's been a while.
I started doing a long and boring story about what I've been doing since my birthday, but it was long and boring.
I've got work in a bit so I'm gonna go do that instead.
