Oh, I do love to be beside the seaside

But now I'm getting bored and I can't wait to come home and see all you loverly people.

First things first, this blog comes (as usual) with a couple of apologies.
1) I'm sorry I didn't blog for the past couple of weeks, for one of them I think I was terribly hungover and for the other I have no excuse
2) Today isn't my blog day but yesterday the internet was down for some inexplicable reason and the guy's just been and gone to fix it, so I'm sorry this is late.
Better late than never, right?

Anyway, ONWARDS!

This week was crazy busy, I've had three hand ins this week which have all had me racking my brains but also taking a little bit of pride and excitement in being vaguely academic and I'm just getting started on next week's essay which is a stonker and a lot of fun. The last few weeks I've been throwing myself into my course since a moment of drunken enlightenment on a bench when a little voice came to me saying 'You are doing a degree, get it together'. I guess (or at least hope) it happens to us all.

Lat night I went out to dinner with Lily for Christmas/Anniversary which was sweet. We dressed up and pretended to be all that then went and got a meal deal like the student low-lifes we are. Problem was, I ate so fucking much pizza I couldn't handle pudding and the waiter told us if we didn't order desserts then our meal deal would be void and we would have to pay more. Still it turned out okay cause right now there's a box of profiteroles sitting next to me just calling out. I think they're talking Hebrew, which is weird cause I thought they were French.

Its getting to the end of term now, everybody is out of money and burdened by work they didn't do sooner and there's this lovely sense of solidarity in the library when you hear 'Hey man, how's it going?'
'Ugggh, okay....'
'Yeah, I hear that brother.'
Still it doesn't bother me cause I'll be on the train home soon and ready to take on Christmas with all my will and cheer. I'm really looking forward to Christmas now since our house's Christmas dinner the other night and I especially can't wait to be singing at Wacky Wednesdays, kicking back with you guys and partying at Will's like it's two-thousand-and-twelve.

Speaking of our Christmas dinner, here's a picture of me and my housemates waiting for the turkey to cook:

From left to right: Luke, Umar, Anais, me, Faye and Will. What a lovely bunch of people.

I guess that's David's challenge done, nice one by the way David

And while I'm doing photos here's a picture taken from just around the corner to make you guys all jelly and ice cream:

Juliet, in response to your blog title, there's nothing wrong with getting a little bit upset over something that is worth getting upset over: famine, war, petty theft, governments screwing students and pensioners etc. etc.

So I now propose my challenge, as Will has pointed out it's long overdue. Now I think about it, it's less of a challenge and more of a question; my question is this:
What was your best Christmas present ever and why?

Were there any more challenges? If there were then I've totally forgotten them, you should consider me a failure.

I think that's about it, rock on mongooses and keep the blog going (props to Will for being so consistent all this time and for also being consistently awesome).

Love to your mothers.

Oh, PS. I deactivated my Facebook account a few days ago, it's not because I hate you guys or anything like that (far from it), it's just I've found myself going on it every ten minutes recently and it's really starting to piss me off so I thought I'd go cold-turkey for a while and focus on these end of term struggles. All well and good, I'll reactivate it again when the holidays come - nothing is permanent.

EDIT! I just read this again, it's formal as fuck, I think it was a rush. Kind of just bullet points of whatever came out my mind, I need to get more dynamic blogs going so I'll tell you this, even though I'm one and a half - maybe two bottles of wines down the road, whatever you guys propose I blog about next week I'll do it, gimmie something. Could be funny or dark or something that requires more than lunch time. Lets make this precious. That took way too long to type.

EDIT! I don't remember writing any of that shit. Does that mean it still counts? Still, it was surprisingly well spelt.

Love to all your mothers, even the ugly ones, you know whose they are!
